OHAO has updated our Mentoring Program!

The goal of this program is to provide opportunities for interactions and exchange of ideas and knowledge between experienced, seasoned industry professionals (mentors) and people that are new to the art and science of occupational hygiene (mentees).

Mentees will gain insightful tips regarding the profession from the mentor.  Mentees must be OHAO members and should be within the first 5 years of their career in Canada.  This includes potential mentees who are just entering the workforce, changing career paths later in life or new to the country, etc.

Mentors have an opportunity to “pay it forward” and acquire CMPs. Mentors must be OHAO members and will be experienced in the OH industry and willing to commit to the mentorship program.

We are actively seeking Mentees to participate in the program. Mentors, if you can spare a small amount of time out of your year to share your expertise and experience with the occupational hygienists of tomorrow your support would be appreciated. If you have any questions regarding the program contact office@ohao.org.

OHAO Mentorship Program Testimonials

The mentorship program was indeed very rewarding, my mentor spent countless hours mentoring and preparing me for the field of occupational hygiene and providing me with great hands-on experience! Travis McLennon, Mentee

I became a mentor because I strongly believe that as Industrial Hygienists, we must give back to the community and foster the growth of new IH/OHS professionals. The experience of coaching and guiding my mentee has been extremely rewarding. During the program, my mentee and I worked on addressing weaknesses, interview skills, and discussed job opportunities and career progression. It is satisfying to see my mentee’s accomplishments knowing that my professional support aws a factor in their success. Letty Wong, Mentor
